Sabyasachi Mukherjee will be participating in the New York Fashion Week where he represents India with a collection that could be a trendsetter yet again. He wowed his audience at a preview showing of his line. Fashion writer Janet Walker writes in the LA Splash: “The collection ended with Tracy Chapman singing Talkin’ About a Revolution and the line is just that.”
Sabyasachi believes fusion is tacky, is glad that silhouettes are moving from frumpy to super-sexy, and might even have many exotic mini-tennis dresses to show. Time to get those legs in shape girls!
Meanwhile, Singapore’s very own Raffles Design Institute, which has a branch in Mumbai, has produced the winner of the Indian leg of the Triumph Inspiration Award.
The Award challenged students from prestigious international design schools to create a conceptual showpiece set, comprising an underwired bra and brief, dedicated to a special design motto. Female Fascination was the theme and Divyanka Bedi was the winner with her design ‘Lady Ivy’.
So here’s raising a toast to creative lingerie, rising hemlines, festive dizziness and continued style tidings from ‘desh and videsh’!
